"... I am no prophet of doom but I do not believe "the bottom is just around the corner" [as what Y.B. Datuk Dr Shafie (Deputy Finance Minister), Fred Tam (CEO, P.I. Capital) & Dr Neoh Soon Kean (CEO, Dynaquest) have predicted]. My analysis points to a slightly longer time frame. In fact, the confirming signal I am looking for -- the inverted Three Buddhas -- is as elusive as ever.
The new major Wave 1 in a correction mode... How low can the KLCI drop? Most likely to 650 (by year-end [2000]?), then to 550 level. A "worst case" scenario could see KLCI being dragged way down to 450, or even 400 levels!
Pinpointing the KLCI's trend reversal using 3-line break & 1% kagi charts.... in search for the "neck emerging from a white suit with black shoes" and the "inverted three Buddhas"

It's going to be rosy in the longer term.....
With a steep major Wave 1 (a massive 760 points!), we can expect a brighter future in in the longer term, with the KLCI capable of touching 1230 (by 2002/2003), the magical 2000 level by 2008/2009, and even 3230 (by 2020?).

Dear En Arifin,

I read your article in the Edge on the above and I am a firm believer that the Candle stick charts can reveal a great deal, the only problem is the lack of these charts for the average investor. Maybe you can assist me as to where I can get these charts on a regular basis. Now that the market has literally crashed to the 700 level it would seem that your reading of the market will prove correct and it will head south.

Based on the 1% Kagi since the market has now established 10 sessions of lower shoulders is it your opinion that the down trend will reverse or do you see the trend continuing down to 650 for wave 2 before it corrects? I know that what you may say is only your opinion and based on your reading of the various charts yet I would be pleased to hear from you and maybe one day meet up and discuss charting with you.

Best regards,

Paramjit Gill

Dear Encik Arifin

Your article in The Edge was most interesting and informative. Thank  you for sharing it. Could you please advise which software which is  readily available which displays kagi charts? By the way, do you conduct  any technical analysis courses?

Thank you.

Mr.Arifin,

I came across your recent contribution in The Edge publication and sincerely thought it a rather interesting read. The revelations on the possible market direction were certainly an eye opener.

As a matter of fact, I wonder if you might be interested to share some of your expert knowledge on technical analysis (charting) with RHS  professionals (remisiers / dealers), be it on an elementary, intermediate or advanced level. If you are keen, let me know and we can proceed to discuss further arrangements.

Thanks again for a great article !

Brother

Go and shoot them - no wonder the market is in shambles -- people  manning the market place don't know how to analyse, tch tch tch!

On a serious note, this could be another window to expand the "shorting"  knowledge, but please negotiate the price - remember, at market price please!  Not the treasury circular rate!
